AN OVERVIEW OF RISE IN GAIT IMPAIRMENT IN INDIAN SCENARIO

As the gait impairment is big issue in front of today’s world. In this paper we have discussed about the increase in number of gait impaired patients day by day and major causes of gait impairment like stroke and spinal cord injury (SCI) in India by reviewing their literature. The anatomical systems within the lower limb are discussed. We also go through the lower limb joints anatomy and their movements. With the help of brief discussion we have shown the maximum number of degree of freedom for more efficient lower limb exoskeleton, which is a better option for gait rehabilitation.
